Artist Background

In January of 2004, while accompanying my mother on a casual trip to a fabric store, I flipped through the pages of a book about landscape quilts and was so captivated by the beautiful images that I purchased the book, determined to make one of the quilted wall art pieces. Once I started working on the first one, "Just Frog", I was hooked!

Since that first piece, I have enjoyed having family members suggest subjects or provide images of places that have special meaning to them and then rendering the idea into a finished piece of wall art.

I enjoy everything about the process: discussing the desired art piece, searching for just the right fabrics for the background and individual elements, creating the art, sewing the piece, creating a special embroidery label and message to the recipient and, finally, presenting the completed piece. Each time I finish one, I can't wait to start on the next one.

Occasionally, I have had family members and friends ask me to make a table runner to coordinate with a special room or setting. The results are more art than simply a functional table runner.
