About the Piece: This piece of quilted wall art was made for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Kathy. They had asked for a landscape quilt that depicted a homey Virginia countryside scene. The composition of this fictional scene evolved after studying quite a few pictures of country scenes from the Shenandoah Valley area. Kathy wanted their cat, "Mr. Cat," to be in the picture. You'll find him in the foreground playing gently with a frog. Kathy has owned horses for years, so they were included, along with "Sammy" the dog, seen amidst the three horses.
