A day at the pond

About the Piece: My nephew, James, lived with us for about a year and a half after Hurricane Katrina cut a path through Louisiana. I home-schooled James during that time and this wall quilt was his senior art project. It depicts James and Leland, his Australian shepherd buddy, fishing at "Big Snake Lake" which is located on James's family's tree farm. I can personally attest to the appropriateness of the name of the lake. The snakes are big and plentiful!

Dimensions: 42" wide x 35" high

Technique: Hand cut fabric pieces. Machine stitched and machine quilted.

Materials used: Primarily composed of cotton fabric though other natural fibers, synthetics and blend fabrics were also used.
